5 Best Induction Cooktop 2017 | The Present and Future of Cooking

Safety and innovation are the two main factors that drive just about any industry today. That is no different when talking about the cooking industry. If you’ve done any type of cooking in your life, then there’s a good chance that you’ve been burned by a flame, hot stove or oven, or even a pot that just came off the fire. Actually, some of those things may have happened to you if you were just an innocent bystander and not even involved in cooking. That’s where best induction cooktop come into play. They provide a new and innovative method of cooking that is safer and more energy efficient. The only heat coming from the cooktop will be where the cookware sits, which means you have a much lower chance of getting burned. Induction cooktops are becoming increasingly popular, and they could easily be the norm in the very near future.

In the NFL, the summer is the time for self-improvement.

For young players, summers can put them on track for success or derail their careers. OTA and minicamp practices will help them develop their skills and put them head-to-head with the teammates who they’ll be competing against for playing time.

Every NFL roster has at least one key young player who could drastically improve his career by improving in a particular area this offseason, be it durability concerns or refinement of technique.

Seals-Jones can’t just come into the game as a pass-catching option, as that would tip off defenses. To move past Jermaine Gresham for the top spot on Arizona’s depth chart, he’ll need to improve as a blocker.

Deadrin Senat can’t fix this between now and September, but his making the jump from AAC defensive tackle to the Atlanta Falcons’ starting nose tackle in a few months’ time is cause for concern.

I love the communication I have with horses, he said. To make it work, there’s nothing like it, there’s nothing like crossing the wire first. You make a 1,200-pound horse do things that some people couldn’t do. You can move them with just your hands, you know, and you get them to win.

On Saturday, he didn’t have to work hard at all.

Together, the jockey and the horse worked in synch to make it easier than anyone expected. At the quarter pole, when Smith asked for a little more, Justify responded. He shifted off the rail and to next lane on his right and now he could call on the kind of speed he didn’t even need earlier. He won it by a widening length and three-quarters.

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Steve Young urged former Niners teammate Terrell Owens to reconsider his decision to skip the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony in August.

Rutgers tabs former Florida star as new softball coach

Rutgers has hired Toledo’s Kristen Butler, a former SEC player of the year at Florida, as its new head softball coach.

Butler replaces Jay Nelson, whose contract was not renewed by athletics director Pat Hobbs at the end of this past season after 12 years at the helm. She takes over a program that has struggled mightily since joining the Big Ten. Rutgers has a 28-61 (.315) record in conference games and is 86-121 (.415) overall since entering the league.

Butler went 104-122 in her four years at Toledo and she leaves as the second-winningest coach in program history. She was the 2018 MAC coach of the year.

The Orlando, Florida, native was a four-year starter at Florida, primarily as a catcher. She was SEC player of the year in 2006 after setting a program record for home runs in a season. Butler also played professionally in the National Professional Fastpitch League and overseas in the Japanese league. She remains the NPFL’s all-time home runs and RBI leader.

Butler was also an assistant at Charleston Southern, Mississippi Valley State and Florida before taking over Toledo’s program.

You just keep riding that wave.

The Yankees are hoping they’re still on that wave come October because that’s when we’ll find out if they’re truly a great team. That’s when we’ll find out for sure if they’re better than the 2017 Yankees because no amount of regular-season wins can match playoff success.

But so far, the Yankees are doing everything they can. They’ve won five of seven from the Astros, who beat them in last year’s ALCS on their way to winning the 2017 World Series. They’ve also sweep a three-game series from the AL Central-leading Cleveland Indians and they split their first six with the Boston Red Sox, who are just two games back in the AL East.

We’ve obviously played well and racked up a lot of wins, but you also realize every night how precious those wins are and how hard they are to come by, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said. I don’t care who we’re playing, but when you look at it, it is gratifying to know that we’ve played pretty well against some of the elite teams and some of the hot teams.

Mets prospect Peter Alonso: ‘My love of baseball is forever’

Editor’s note: This is another in a series of exclusive columns by Mets prospect Peter Alonso, chronicling his journey to the major leagues.

On paper, my baseball career started in June 2016 when I signed with the New York Mets at Citi Field. I want to inform you readers that this is incorrect.

The cornerback competition is one to watch entering training camp. While Janoris Jenkins and Eli Apple are atop the depth chart, Shurmur is still looking to find out who can fill in best at the nickel and beyond that.

Donte Deayon, William Gay and Curtis Riley are all in the mix.

While Jon Halapio spent minicamp lining up at center with the first-team unit, Shurmur said it’s still a competition for the starting spot. … Shurmur said rookie defensive tackle RJ McIntosh, the Giants’ fifth-round pick out of Miami, is going to have a procedure for an undisclosed injury, but is hopeful he’ll be ready for training camp. … Outside linebacker Avery Moss spent minicamp running off to the side of drills as he continues to work back from an injury he sustained last season, Shurmur said.

Few if any believed the bizarrely specific report that: (1) the trade offers were on the table from San Francisco and Nashville; (2) coach Bill Belichick wanted to proceed; (3) quarterback Tom Brady responded to the news by threatening to retire; and (4) Kraft stepped in and put the kibosh on the transaction. To the extent anyone did, they now shouldn’t.

Three weeks to the day after the Jets traded the former second-round pick for a conditional seventh-round choice, he was cut, failing even to get to training camp.

Because Hackenberg won’t be on the Raiders’ roster for any games, the Jets won’t get the draft choice, meaning they essentially traded Hackenberg for nothing. He never appeared in a regular-season game for them, and only was active for five games. Oakland opted to go with EJ Manuel and Connor Cook as Derek Carr’s backups.

General manager Mike Maccagnan took Hackenberg with the 51st-overall pick in the 2016 draft, which so far has turned out to be the worst move of his tenure. Hackenberg was a goner once the Jets traded up in April’s draft and landed Sam Darnold with the third-overall pick. Following the team’s first OTAs, Hackenberg positively talked up the revamped throwing motion he had worked on with personal quarterback coach Jeff Christensen.

But it didn’t impress the Raiders enough to keep him around.

Cardinals waive LB Frank Ginda

The Cardinals officially announced the signing of wide receiver Greg Little on Friday and they are likely to add another player to the roster in the near future.

As reported along with the Little news on Thursday, the Cardinals waived wide receiver Cobi Hamilton. On Friday they also announced that they have waived linebacker Frank Ginda.

The father of four spent his Father’s Day stirring up political controversy by tweeting a link to a blatantly heavily edited Barack Obama video. Leach asked his followers to listen in and share their thoughts about a video that had taken Obama out of context, quoting him as saying that progress can only come when individuals surrender their rights to an all-powerful sovereign — which he had said to represent the danger of such thinking.

So I think that an open discussion is always in order, Leach tweeted Sunday along with the video, until he deleted Monday. Tweet your thoughts. Maybe we can all learn something.

He has played in every game for the Patriots since being drafted. Thursday’s extension provides him with a chance to keep that streak alive for many years to come.

I think he has improved every day, Shurmur said last week as the Giants finished up their spring work. I think he’s got an outstanding skill set. I mean, big, strong, can throw. He can run around and he’s gotten more and more comfortable with what we’re doing.

This is not merely a big (6-foot-5) guy who follows around Manning like an oversized puppy. Webb does not merely pay lip service to observing and learning from Manning, the 14-year veteran. Amid a carefree exterior, there is a seriousness to the way Webb goes about his business. As the Giants separated for a near six-week break prior to training camp, Webb did not sound like a young guy looking forward to an extended vacation.

This isn’t time off, this is time away, Webb said, echoing Shumur’s message to the team. I don’t want to be away. I’m 23 years old, hopefully retirement’s a long way from now. Whenever I’m done coaching or playing, then I’ll take my vacation time.

MLB trade rumors: Orioles’ Manny Machado to Red Sox in nightmare scenario for Yankees?

The Baltimore Orioles bring a league-worst 19-48 record into Friday’s game against the Miami Marlins.

Which means we are one day closer to the Orioles deciding if they will move shortstop Manny Machado before the July 31st non-waiver trade deadline.

The Sox’s top prospect is third baseman Michael Chavis, who is serving an 80-game suspension after testing positive for a banned substance, dehydrochlormethyltestosterone (DHMCT). Like Chris Colabello, Daniel Stumpf and others suspended for DHMCT, Chavis denied purposely taking any prohibited substance and reacted with shock to his penalty. The Sox, if they traded Devers and lost Machado as a free agent, could turn to Chavis at third, or sign another free agent.

Andrew Norwell previously had the richest contract at the position after signing a five-year, $66.5 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars in March.

Martin’s deal also includes $40 million guaranteed, per Schefter.

Martin, 27, has not missed a start since being selected No. 16 overall in 2014.

Every year, NFL teams take cornerbacks at the top of the draft and pray they turn into what Ramsey has become for the Jaguars. In two seasons, Ramsey has established himself as one of the very best cornerbacks in the NFL. You could argue Ramsey earned superstar status on the back of his rookie year alone, but there’s no doubt about it after a dominant second year in which the first-team All-Pro allowed a 52.1 passer rating on throws his way. He’s also a fun and charismatic personality who talks splendid trash and will undoubtedly spice things up in The Superstar Club. This is especially important considering the man he’s set to replace…

Ravens Reportedly Lose Last 2 OTAs After Rule Violation, May Face Fines

The Baltimore Ravens were reportedly docked their final two OTAs this week because of an undisclosed infraction of league rules, according to former Baltimore Sun reporter Jeff Zrebiec.

Head coach John Harbaugh and owner Steve Bisciotti are facing potential fines as well, and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Harbaugh will be fined $50,000, while Bisciotti will be fined $100,000.

The Cardinals have a new right side of the line with right guard Justin Pugh and right tackle Andre Smith, while center A.Q. Shipley, left guard Mike Iupati and left tackle D.J. Humphries remain. If that group really can jell well enough to be the best line in the NFL, that would dramatically change the fortunes of a team that has missed the playoffs two straight years.

Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins didn’t use his name either, but said that the official version of events and the truth are not the same.

Jenkins is resisting efforts to frame this as a mandate on patriotism or the military, which is a strategy the White House has clearly adopted after canceling the event upon realizing few players were actually going to show up for it.

Only thing I was contemplating, really, was how do I spend more time with my family, Quin said, via the Detroit News. That was really it. How do I spend more time with them? It’s a difficult situation. That was really the main thing, disconnect, give them everything I got and let’s try to figure out how to spend more time with them. I know the work I had to put in to be in shape and I just put it on myself. When you’re in the offseason program, the first few weeks, you don’t get that much time. You work out and then you’re kind of done, so it’s a lot of standing around. I was like, I can get my workouts at home and make sure I’m training. And instead of standing around, I can spend that time with my kids and my wife.

The Yankees went on to win 4-1.

jets_053Along with Tanaka’s now two hamstring injuries in starts at Citi Field, the Yankees lost starter Chien-Ming Wang to a serious foot injury in June 2008, when he partially tore a tendon and sprained his right foot running the bases during a Yankees interleague win at Houston.

Traded to San Francisco from New England last October, Jimmy G. changed the outlook of an entire franchise overnight. Pretty good value at the cost of a second-round draft pick, huh? Given a full offseason with head coach/offensive guru Kyle Shanahan, Garoppolo is a sexy dark horse NFL MVP pick. His drive efficiency performance was off the charts in his five starts last season, and that was before he had running back Jerick McKinnon (acquired in free agency) and veteran wide receiver Pierre Garcon (injured) at his disposal. The Niners are relevant again, and it’s all thanks to Jimmy G. Now watch him back up the hype.

This might be a time of transition for the Seahawks — particularly on defense — so Wilson, more than ever, will be the center of everything for Pete Carroll’s squad. Wilson led the league in touchdown passes last season, and you can safely assume Seattle will keep airing it out until the desert quest for a suitable Marshawn Lynch replacement is completed (you’re up, Rashaad Penny). Wilson threw the ball more than ever in 2017, but he still moves the chains with his legs as well as just about anyone. (He went over 500 yards rushing for the fourth time in his career, adding three additional scores on the ground.) The Seahawks need Wilson to be better than ever — he’s unlikely to let them down.

David might be the most anonymous star in the NFL today. He’s been a difference-making presence in Tampa Bay’s 3-4 scheme for six years now, but he’s only got one Pro Bowl nod to show for it. At least the tape geeks are paying attention: Pro Football Focus ranked David second amongst all linebackers last season, sandwiched between Bobby Wagner and Luke Kuechly. That is pretty solid company. If you believe the Bucs are going to bounce back from last season’s disappointment, expect David to be a primary reason why.

Minnesota traded for Cave in March after he was designated for assignment by the Yankees.

jets_051To be able to come up and show that I deserve to be here, it does feel really good, said Cave, who hit 20 home runs between Double-A and Triple-A last year.

Eduardo Escobar doubled twice to take over the major league lead with 26 and the Minnesota bullpen threw 3 2/3 shutout innings before a two-run single by Albert Pujols in the ninth.

Los Angeles had the go-ahead run at the plate against closer Fernando Rodney in a non-save situation, but Zack Cozart popped out.

After giving up a two-run home run to Logan Morrison in the first, Tropeano retired 10 straight Twins before the fifth.

I just didn’t execute pitches when I needed to, Tropeano said. With runners in scoring position you got to make your pitches.

I know those two had a chance to spend a lot of time together when he was in St. Louis and he respects him, respects his legacy tremendously, Los Angeles manager Mike Scioscia said. For him to be in the same sentence with Stan Musial I know is a nice feeling for Albert.

Ian Kinsler had a solo home run for Los Angeles, his sixth in the past 11 games. Blake Parker recorded his seventh save for Los Angeles, which has won seven of its past eight games.

Kyle Gibson (1-4) allowed both home runs before completing seven innings. He gave up five hits, walked two and struck out five batters as Minnesota fell to 3-13 in one-run games.

The four-hour rain delay is the second-longest in Target Field history, behind a 4:50 delay last June against the Chicago White Sox.

Once the teams took the field, Skaggs and Gibson minimized trouble until Kinsler hit his eighth home run with a nearly one-handed swing off the end of the bat with two outs in the third.

Gibson followed by walking Mike Trout and Justin Upton, but he struck out Pujols to end the inning on a pitch Pujols argued with home plate umpire Jim Reynolds.

Pujols struck in the sixth with a towering homer to the second deck in left field. It was Pujols’ 3,026th career hit, which ranks 27th on the career list. He’s seventh on the home run list, seven behind Ken Griffey Jr., and his RBI total is 44, behind Lou Gehrig for sixth.

Jake Lamb smashes a line drive just out of the reach of Corey Dickerson to tie the game at 5-5.

jets_052PHOENIX Pittsburgh starter Joe Musgrove worked out of a couple of jams to help his team build a five-run lead over Arizona after six innings. When he opened the seventh by intentionally plunking Chris Owings, it not only put a runner on, it sparked the Diamondbacks to a massive rally.

Jake Lamb hit a tying-three run homer in the seventh inning and the Diamondbacks scored nine runs after Musgrove hit Owings to rally past the Pirates 9-5 on Monday night.

It is nothing more than protecting your teammates, Musgrove said. That is baseball and how the game is played. If you are willing to go out and hit somebody you have to be willing to deal with might come with that.

Callaway has also had a few more ongoing difficult issues than Boone. While the Yankees skipper has seen rookies Gleyber Torres and Miguel Andujar rise to the occasion and pick up the slack for the so-so starts from Stanton and Gary Sanchez, Callaway has had to deal with Matt Harvey and Cespedes. That has led to plenty of back-page fodder:

The Mets also seem reluctant to admit Jose Reyes is cooked. He was worth minus-0.6 WAR last season and has been even worse this season, with minus-1.0 WAR while hitting .141. Yet the Mets have apparently been reluctant to release him because of his legacy with the franchise. Please.

We work very closely with the NFL and the NFLPA, Haumiller said. We work very closely about how we want to represent the game, and really make it a celebration of the sport. And maybe a place where you don’t have to . . . you love the game, but you don’t have to worry about everything else that’s going on that might be distractions from [the reason] you’re trying to be here — it’s about the game.

According to GameSpot, after the anthem issue first arose in 2016, EA said that the announcers would address the issue in the commentary during the game. That never happened.

Two years later, EA is firmly committed to avoiding what Haumiller called a distraction from the game.

We really want to get you to the gameplay, Haumiller said, and anyone who plays Madden on a regular basis agrees.

A Yankees spokesperson disputed Leyritz’s statement.

jets_053It’s disappointing that Jim has entered into this arena the way that he has, the spokesman said. This tweet is baseless and categorically false. Frankly, he should be thankful for his ties to this organization.

What if Yanks had signed Verlander?

and before the 2016 election he donated more than $1 million to political action committees behind Republicans Jeb Bush and John Kasich.

As for Trump, Tepper would appear on CNBC on the eve of Election Day and refer to the Republican nominee as a candidate who masquerades as an angel of light, but he is the father of lies.

Duvernay-Tardif celebrated his graduation by posting a picture of himself on Twitter, wearing a white coat with his jersey number, No. 76, emblazoned in Chiefs colors on the back.

This is it! he wrote. Today I become a doctor!

Duvernay-Tardif, 27, was a sixth-round pick in the 2014 NFL draft. He’s continued to pursue his M.D. part-time over the past four years while simultaneously developing into a starter for the Chiefs, and he said earlier this year that he wants to add M.D.to the back of his jersey.

With a medical degree in hand, Duvernay-Tardif told ESPN that his next step in medicine will be to participate in a residency program. He plans to work under a supervisory physician in emergency medicine. He told the network that he is unsure whether he’ll be able to do the residency part-time during his NFL career, which will remain his priority, but he’s enjoyed the balance between the two.
